The Drip Bush Walk Mudgee Region
The Drip Walking Track: Only 30 mins Drive north of Mudgee enjoy a bush walk through a picturesque setting of bushland, creek and rock formations. Western Plains Zoo Dubbo: Is 1.25hrs drive from Mudgee. Offers a safari adventure with over 300 hectares to explore and over 500 animals. Walk, bike or drive your way around the 5.5km. This zoo is like no other.
The Globe Hotel Rylstone
Rylstone & Kandos: Is a 30 mins picturesque drive from Mudgee through the meandering country side of Wiradjuri country. Make sure you stop on your way at Lue Pub to say G’day, take a photo of the iconic building and purchase a cool refreshment. Rylstone & Kandos are sister towns separated only by 6km. Rylstone has a foodie creative vibe and is known for boutique shopping, 29 Nine 99 famous Yum cha, Pepino’s Mexican Restaurant, the old fashioned Lollipop shop & the Globe Hotel. Whilst Kandos has a feel of industrial history which boasts an Olympic Size outdoor swimming pool and fantastic antique shopping.
Gold Panning Hill End
Hill End : Is a 1 hour drive from Mudgee this historic Gold mining town is a quaint heritage village. Try your luck with gold panning, and then exchange the gold fragments that you have found to cash, at the Northey’s old Gold Mining shop in the main street. Strap on your hard hat and tour Bald Hill Mine and then have a counter meal and drink at Royal Hotel.
The Ten Dollar Town Hotel Gulgong

Gulgong: Is 15mins drive from Mudgee. A Step back into time – superbly persevered 19th-century Australian gold-mining town settlement of single-storey weatherboard, iron, stone and brick buildings with old-fashioned iron-lace verandas, tiny wooden cottages, horse troughs and hitching rails. The perfect town for a history walk. Visit the Gulgong museum, take photos outside The Ten Dollar Town Hotel that was feature on the old $10 note, shop at Stacks Down Under a huge quirky homeware variety store, grab a milk shake and BLT from the Butchers shop Café and have a beer or lemonade at the Prince of Wales Hotel.
